This position relies heavily on a commitment to scholarly productivity and grant writing, and will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers across LSU campuses. Job Responsibilities: Conduct research involving in vivo and in vitro imaging techniques, metabolic profiling, and biobank management (35%). Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers across LSU campuses to better understand the effects of physical and psychological stressors on overall athlete health throughout the lifespan. Specifically, the postdoctoral fellow will investigate the mechanistic underpinnings responsible for early morbidity and mortality in military, first responders, and competitive athletes to further develop lifestyle programs to improve the overall health of these populations (30%). Create and assist with the management of a biobank of clinical samples to screen for novel biomarkers of stress linked to potential clinical outcomes(30%). Other duties as assigned (5%).
