Hiring Unit: Athletics & Recreation Position Summary: Under the direction of the Head Coach - Swimming, the Technical Specialist - Assistant Coach Swimming will assist with tasks to ensure the success of the swimming program with weekly responsibilities, focusing on tasks that support the development of student-athletes, the team, and sport-specific support systems. Primary Responsibilities: Support the coaches with the planning and execution of daily training sessions and home meets with the use of video analysis during practices and competition Assist with meet preparation and execution, including warm-ups, race strategy, and post-race evaluation. Record and track athlete performance data and competition results; maintain accurate statistics and performance metrics throughout the season. Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement at the individual and team level prepare post-meet reports and summaries for the Head Coach. Assist with the preparation, organization, maintenance, and distribution of team equipment for practices and competitions. Assist with scheduling practices and coaching at competitions. Help with administrative tasks such as ordering and distribution of apparel and bathing suits and managing the team social media accounts as required. Assist with individual student athlete development which includes technical, tactical and strategic skills Support the coaching staff in implementing practice plans, competition strategies, and seasonal objectives. Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities: Strong knowledge of the sport (swimming) Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level is considered an asset Level II NCCP certification or equivalent Expected to complete mandatory training/course including Safe Sport and CCES Anti-Doping Able to commit to a flexible schedule Selected candidate must successfully pass their criminal background check.
