Finance Client Partnering Full-time (100%), Fixed-Term position Base salary will be in the range $120,317 - $134,892 + 17% super (HEW Level 8) Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity We are seeking a Manager, Finance Partnering to join our collaborative and high-performing finance function as a trusted strategic advisor to senior academic and professional leaders. In this purposeful and influential role, you will deliver evidence-based financial insight and forward-looking advice to support decision-making across a complex and dynamic funding environment. You will work closely with stakeholders across the University to strengthen financial capability, improve performance and drive outcomes aligned to UQ's strategy. Key responsibilities will include: Leading budgetary control activities across client business units, including expenditure and variation analysis, and advising on control mechanisms that strengthen fiscal accountability, transparency and financial performance. Delivering high-impact, end-to-end financial advisory and commercial services across complex portfolios, aligned to university strategy, policy settings and funding frameworks. Providing clear reporting, commentary and analysis on performance against objectives, critical success factors and KPIs, and identifying opportunities for improvement and value creation. Building trusted partnerships with executive stakeholders while mentoring and developing capability across teams through coaching, collaboration, inclusivity and psychologically safe leadership. About You Postgraduate qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience. Membership of a professional institution such as CPA, CA or equivalent. Demonstrated financial leadership and strategic partnering experience within a large, complex organisation. Proven ability to deliver evidence-based financial advice that influences executive and institutional decision-making. Strong financial accounting, analysis and reporting capability, including experience supporting planning, forecasting, monitoring and performance commentary. Significant experience managing and delivering project-based accounting and advisory services in complex stakeholder and policy environments. Highly developed relationship management, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence outcomes across diverse groups. A collaborative, inclusive and values-led leadership style, with experience mentoring others and contributing to a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
