Role Specific: Responsible for the design, development, and coordination of railway trackwork systems, including plain line track, switches and crossings (S&C), crossovers, depots, and special trackwork. Produces and reviews track layouts, track geometry, turnout arrangements, rail and sleeper specifications, and trackform solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements, operational needs, and applicable standards. Coordinates closely with civil, systems, signalling, and rolling stock disciplines to resolve interfaces and optimize track design. Supports design assurance, technical reviews, constructability assessments, and the development of technical reports and specifications. Provides technical guidance to junior engineers and contributes to the successful delivery of metro, freight, and mainline rail projects through all project phases from concept to detailed design, including construction phases.
