WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US We are looking for a Lead Oracle Database Administrator, responsible for managing and optimizing Oracle database systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. Thereby you are contributing to the effective delivery of high-quality services to our clients, ensuring that all operational processes meet client expectations and organizational goals. This role is focused on Oracle database administration activities to work independently, lead complex database projects, resolve advanced technical issues, and implement improvements. The Lead DBA collaborates with cross-functional teams, mentors junior administrators, and ensures that database operations align with organizational and client needs to foster a high level of client satisfaction. The role is based on a late‑shift model, with working hours scheduled from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. CET. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Lead the management and optimization of Oracle database systems to support business and operational goals Oversee database installations, configurations, and upgrades to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruptions Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expert guidance and support to the team Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data Ensure database security by managing access controls and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements Mentor and guide junior database administrators, fostering skill development and promoting best practices Collaborate with stakeholders to define database requirements and align solutions with business objectives WHAT WE VALUE Certification as Oracle Database Administrator and proven Oracle Database Administration experience Experience with RAC, Active Data Guard, Performance tuning and/or other Oracle Database related products Extensive experience with Oracle in a Microsoft or Unix environment Exposure to LANs, WANs, Citrix Metaframe, Microsoft technologies including XP, Server 2003, SQL Server and XML, etc You enjoy working with complex technical problems in a challenging technical environment Good communication & organization skills, professional in English You have well-developed analytical skills and are used to working in a structured way You are good at working on & prioritizing multiple tasks at the same time You are service-minded and have the ability to thrive in a time-sensitive setting, you enjoy as well working in a team Ability to work on weekends (approx. once per months) and occasionally extended hour to support our clients Capability to work standard late shifts from 3:00 to 23:00 PM CET
