Chemours is seeking a Mechanic to join our growing Maxville Mine team! This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor at our Maxville, FL location. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: This position will safely perform highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with process equipment and mechanical systems for mining and mineral processing facilities operating 24-hours per day, 7-days per week maximizing equipment availability and reducing downtime. Mechanic will support active operations by safely and efficiently maintaining, servicing, and installing/replacing water and slurry pumps, clarifiers, screeners, conveyors, feeders, shredders, bins, valves, and other mineral processing wear parts. Mechanic will need to install, replace, troubleshoot, repair and maintain process equipment as well as perform preventive maintenance activities on all process equipment. Preferred candidate will be an experienced and qualified industrial mechanic capable of working closely with maintenance and operations teams in a mining and mineral processing environment. The following is required for this role: High School graduate or equivalent plus specialized training in mechanical, maintenance or a related field Understanding methods and techniques of troubleshooting, repairing and installing plant equipment, rigging and lifting equipment, precision laser alignment of pumps and motors. Knowledge of MSHA rules and regulations. Use of computers and applicable software applications. The following is preferred for this role: +5-years years of plant maintenance experience Valid Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent, welding and rigging certification
