Department BSD PED - Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation - Applebaum Lab About the Department The Section of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology provides care for patients and families with acute and chronic medical conditions, or other hematologic diseases, requiring the specialty knowledge and skills of Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation. Job Summary The principal contribution of this position is computational and administrative support in the Applebaum lab, designed to understand how machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches can be applied to clinical images from clinical care to develop new classification and prognostic biomarkers. The laboratory is looking for a bright, meticulous, motivated, and curious individual who would like to learn about translational medicine while bringing experience in these computational approaches. The Research Technician will contribute to the application of principles and knowledge relevant to the administration and support of the research project. Under the direction of the principal investigator, will work as a proactive participant with a team of researchers investigating neuroblastoma. Computational responsibilities would include performing coding and analysis of clinical imaging from a radiomics and pathomics standpoint. The Research Technician will help develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan, including planning new procedures, adapting existing procedures to the needs of the project, and making contributions to methodology. This at-will position is wholly funded by extramural funds (e.g., grant, gift, endowment) which are renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the funds. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these funds and satisfactory job performance.
