QC Chemist (Raw Materials)

Responsibilities

• Perform raw materials testing in accordance with GxP, SOPs, and compendial methods (USP/NF, Ph. Eur., JP)
• Conduct wet chemistry, HPLC/UPLC, GC, and FTIR analyses
• Accurately document all work using laboratory notebooks, logbooks, and electronic systems
• Review and evaluate data against specifications; report out-of-specification or abnormal results
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and perform basic maintenance
• Support deviations, investigations, change controls, and CAPAs
• Author and revise SOPs and technical documentation
• Perform data review and documentation verification
• Assist with method implementation and process improvements
• Maintain lab organization using Lean/6 Sigma principles , including inventory and sample management
• Collaborate with team members while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Minimum Requirements
• BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
• 3+ years of pharmaceutical QC experience , including wet lab testing
• Hands-on experience with raw materials testing
• Proficiency in HPLC/UPLC, GC, and FTIR
• Familiarity with compendial methods and physiochemical testing (e.g., pH, appearance, wet chemistry)
• Strong understanding of cGMP and documentation practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Preferred Skills
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to data integrity (ALCOA)
• Experience in Lean lab practices
• Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Gaithersburg, MD, are encouraged to apply

Eurofins PSS is seeking a QC Chemist (Raw Materials) to support the launch and operation of a new raw materials testing laboratory. This position will perform routine and non-routine analytical testing in a cGMP environment while contributing to a collaborative, start-up lab setting. Training will be conducted in both Gaithersburg, MD and Frederick, MD.
