Responsibilities
- Interpret drawings, sketches, models, specifications, worksheets, and related shop documents
- Build, repair, and modify standard and special jigs, fixtures, gauges, tools, assemblies, and related components
- Set up, program, and operate a variety of NC and conventional machines, including lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders, saws, and jig borers
- Apply standard toolroom practices using layout tables, comparators, microscopes, and precision measuring devices
- Support shop operations through manual machining, repair work, fixture build, and general toolmaking activities

- Collaborate as part of a team and perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of five (5) years of manual machining experience (GE Vernova MAP students excluded).
- Experience in Tool Making, Tool & Die, Fixture Build, or related toolroom work
- Experience as a Journeyman or Non-Journeyman Toolmaker/Machinist
- Extensive experience in four or more of the following machine or process categories: Lathes
- Mills
- Operator-controlled precision grinding
- Drills
- Heat treat
- Cutter grinding
- Ability to hold close tolerances of +/- .0002
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, models, and specifications
- Strong craftsmanship, quality focus, and time management skills
- CAD/CAM, welding, fabrication, and CNC programming experience are a plus
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
- Introductory period and performance reviews
- Candidates selected for hire will be subject to a one-year introductory period with review checkpoints at approximately:
- 45 days- appraisal based on machine utilization, project skill assessment and self-piloting through day-to-day scope of work. Hard skills, soft skills. Review team feedback.
- 90 days - the Machinist or Tool maker shall complete a series of 3D or 2D models or prints to complete as projects, displaying craftmanship. This will solely be based on quality, timing and method of manufacturing.
- 180 days - Individual at this point must be self-driven and shows strong efforts through scope of work.
- 1 year - End of probation. Review hard skills, soft skills. Review team feedback.
- Pay Rate: The pay for this position is $39.229 - $40.491. This position is also eligible for [shift premium when you work on an off shift i.e. 2nd or 3rd shift. Plus $1.00 USD an hour on top of base pay. This posting is expected to close on June 15th, 2026.
