As a Tax Manager in Armanino's State & Local Tax (Income and Franchise) practice, you will be responsible for managing client engagements, delivering high quality tax solutions, and supporting the development of staff, while serving as a key technical resource on income and franchise tax matters. Client Service and Engagement Management Manage and deliver multistate income and franchise tax compliance and consulting engagements Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on assigned engagements, ensuring timely communication and high quality service Coordinate state income and franchise tax return preparation and review processes Support state tax planning initiatives for corporations, partnerships, and individuals Assist with state tax controversy matters, including audits, notices, and appeals Technical Expertise and Execution Perform and review apportionment and revenue sourcing analyses for income and franchise taxes Conduct multistate technical tax research to support filing positions, planning opportunities, and client advice Monitor and apply state and local tax legislative developments affecting income and franchise tax P repare and review technical memorandums, client correspondence, and internal guidance Support tax provision and accrual processes related to state income and franchise tax Process Improvement and Innovation Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in SALT compliance and consulting processes Assist in the development and implementation of tools, templates, and technology-enabled solutions Support tax engine implementation, optimization, and training efforts as applicable Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and thought leadership initiatives related to income and franchise tax Team Development and Leadership Manage, develop, and mentor SALT professionals by providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities Review work product and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and growth Assist in engagement planning, budgeting, and workflow management Foster a collaborative, client-focused, and growth-oriented team culture
