  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of sewer construction, installation and maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of the operation of video equipment to inspect sewers.
  • Ability to operate and make minor repairs on television cameras, sealing equipment and videotape records.
  • Ability to interpret video inspection tapes for others.
  • Ability to evaluate problems in sewerlines and make recommendations for corrections.
  • Ability to maintain records and write reports.
  • Ability to assign and review the work of others.

  • Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
  • Probation
  • All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-months.
  • Eligibility
  • Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.

Work of this class involves no supervisory duties. Incumbents receive minimal supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek and may be required to work some evening and weekend hours or held over until properly relieved or for emergencies. Work is performed outdoors where incumbents are exposed to such conditions as odors, inclement weather and traffic. Work requires moderate physical exertion.
