JOB PURPOSE PHINIA is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as an Material's Supervisor in our Laredo distribution center location.
Responsibilities
- Direct customer oversight of domestic and international ship-to locations while coordinating material requirements and outbound shipments with receiving inventory, office, and production floor teams to ensure accurate and on-time fulfillment.
- Execute corrective actions for customer issues, ensuring root cause resolution and long-term process stability.
- Implement 5S and Lean practices on the production floor to improve organization, efficiency, and safety.
- Coordinate annual physical inventory planning and execution, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation, and audit compliance.
- Reduce shipping costs by analyzing customer requirements and past due exposure to optimize logistics decisions.
- Develop and implement cost-saving, efficiency, and safety initiatives across materials and logistics operations.
- Daily coordination with San Luis Potosi plant to align production priorities, inventory levels and customer demand.
- Supervises the activities of the PC & L (materials) staff and
- Adjust work schedules as necessary to meet special order requirements.
- Acts as liaison between the PC& L (materials) staff and the management team.
- Champion improvements and new procedures with floor supervisors and hourly employees in the aftermarket business.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. The candidate must be willing to take on responsibilities outside their primary role as business needs evolve
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, or related manufacturing/distribution function
- SAP experience with the ability to navigate, analyze, and manage materials-related data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Understanding of how PC & L interrelates with other functions in the organization
- Strong knowledge of Phinia products and systems, as well as plant processes and procedures-shares this knowledge with others
- Demonstrated Supervisory skills with the ability to lead, coach, and develop team members.
- Proven materials management expertise within a fast‑paced operational environment
- Experience working with quality systems, standards, and continuous‑improvement processes
- Strong customer‑facing and communication skills, with the ability to manage expectations and resolve issues effectively.
- Solid knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and the ability to apply them to daily operations and long‑term planning
- Hands‑on leadership style with a willingness to be actively involved on the floor and support operational needs directly
