Facility: Dayton Children's - Main Campus Department: Sleep Lab Schedule: Full time Hours: 36 Job Details: The Polysomnographic Trainee develops competency in and performs basic sleep testing procedures and associated interventions within the scope of practice. The sleep trainee works under the direction of the Medical Director of the Pediatric Sleep Center, sleep lab manager and assistant manager, with direct oversight by the night team leader or RPSGT. Professional duties include: Obtaining intake data, instrumenting the patient for testing, observing and documenting the patient's sleep behavior, operating and troubleshooting the sleep diagnostic equipment and providing therapeutic intervention with supervision to include Oxygen Therapy, Basic Airway Management, setup and applying nocturnal fixed PAP system, Non-Invasive Blood Gas Monitoring, CPR, and monitoring response. Assist with polysomnographic scoring and generation of accurate reports.The sleep trainee must be enrolled in the AASM A-Step program and complete educational modules to advance toward RPSGT credentials. Respiratory Therapist student mandated to complete modules only. Department Specific Job Details: Hours: 3 (12 hour shifts) 630p-7a Education: GED/High School diploma required. One year of post secondary education preferred. Certifications: Completion of AASM A-Step program and educational modules within 6 months required RPSGT Credential within 18 months of completion of ASTEP program required Enrolled in A-Step program- BLS Certified preferred S kill/competencies Computer skills, customer service skills, communication skills required EMR preferred
