Training Specialist

About the role

This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Richmond VA Medical Center (VAMC), in Education and Learning Resources Service. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. This experience must have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. Additional qualifying experience: Deliver staff development and facility training using adult learning principles across multiple modalities (in-person, computer-based). Create, revise, and document training procedures, courses, guides, curricula, and instructional materials. Design and administer training needs assessments, surveys, and instruments to identify educational gaps and required interventions. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) - Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) - Combination of successfully completed graduate education and specialized experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
