About the role
Primarily responsible for using technical product expertise to perform field service activities associated with Cymer equipment at customer sites. Field service activities include installing, maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting and repairing Cymer DUV lasers under end user environmental conditions. A Field Service Engineer represents Cymer to the customers with confidence and assumes accountability for customer satisfaction with service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Analyzes, diagnoses and troubleshoots laser equipment problems via telephone or at customer site. Installs, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on laser equipment at customer sites. Travels as required to perform service activities at customer sites. Provides technical training, guidance and assistance to less experienced field service engineers. Completes accurate service and expense reports as defined in the respective process documentation. Uses company technical documentation and provide feedback for improvement of the documentation. Maintains an assigned installed base, provides primary support, forecasts, customer support meetings and day-to-day communication with the customer. Standby duty on a rotational basis outside office hours, including weekends and public holidays. Other duties as required.
Requirements

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required: BS degree in electrical & electronics preferred. Diploma holder with 5 years experience in semiconductor industry will be considered.
- Required: Advanced technical knowledge in optics, electronics (analog and digital), control area networks, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Required: minimum of 2 years experience in repairing and maintaining similar equipment and interfacing with customers.
- Required: experience providing technical leadership and guidance to others.

- LANGUAGE SKILLS -
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures in English is required. Ability to write reports, and evaluate procedure manuals in English is required. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers and customers.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, ratios, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- A Valid driver's license and own vehicle are an advantage, but not mandatory.
