Research & Development (R&D) Director

Responsibilities

• Direct the R&D team in the design, prototyping, and testing of new underwater robotic products and subsystems.
• Manage technology transitions from R&D to production, ensuring designs are manufacturable and reliable.
• Collaborate with product management to define technical specifications and product roadmaps.
• Establish and maintain rigorous testing and validation protocols for marine environments.
• Drive intellectual property creation and patent filings.

Requirements

• Experience : Minimum 8 years in R&D leadership within the robotics industry, with a strong focus on marine or underwater systems.
• Technical Expertise : Deep knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, materials science (marine-grade alloys, composites), and electronics packaging .
• Hands-On : Experience with CAD tools, simulation software (CFD, FEA), and prototype fabrication.
• Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
• Industry Experience : Required - direct work experience in the underwater robotics industry.
