Senior Geologist

About the role

Accountable for the delivery of significant and complex activities or projects. This role will require the accurate prediction and planning for future resources. Coordinating project activities to align with overarching goals and address minor conflicts and challenges. Monitor project progress and interdependencies and offering support. Responsible for engineering geological analysis and the development of ground models for a range of projects, including but not limited to preparing desktop studies, field mapping, investigation scope, geological and geotechnical interpretation, geological sections and 3D ground model visualisations, geohazard assessments and reports under limited supervision. Represent Arup at internal and external meetings. Taking a longer-term strategic view of the business, this role contributes to the development plan of Arup. Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology; Preferably Master Degree Specialized in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering. With minimum 9 years of relevant industry experience in Ground Engineering Relevant industry experience in medium to large infrastructure projects within a consulting business environment; Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership; Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines - and Arup's related procedures including OH&S. Very good working knowledge of industry standard software for geotechnical data management, interpretation and visualization such as gINT/OpenGround, ArcGIS and Leapfrog Works 3D modelling software. Substantial knowledge and consulting and technical experience in ground engineering and related areas. Experience in geohazard assessment highly desirable.
