Requirements

  • MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Extensive, recent experience in embedded controls and hardware for robotic motor drives or complex power electronics systems.
  • Demonstrated success delivering innovative motion platforms with closed-loop validation and field deployment.
  • Leadership roles in architecting or scaling advanced robotic hardware platforms with real-world experience with GaN FET-based inverters, actuation mechanism design, and sensor fusion.
  • MCU motor-control expertise: Advanced timers, center-aligned PWM, ADC-injected sampling, DMA, capture/compare, and fault inputs; interrupt latency management and fixed-point math.
  • Power electronics & drivers: Three-phase inverter design, gate driver tuning, snubber design, current sensing topologies, DC link design, and motor-side filtering.
  • GaN (Plus): Layout and drive techniques for high dv/dt switching, Miller mitigation, and double‑pulse testing.
  • Advanced expertise in: FOC and commutation algorithm design and tuning (simulation, HIL, dyno).
  • PWM/ADC synchronization, DMA pipelines, and real-time control loops on MAX/STM MCUs.
  • Three-phase inverter design, gate driver configuration, and board bring-up.
  • System identification, parameter estimation, and implementation of sensorless observers.
  • Robust fault handling, diagnostics, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
  • Automated verification (e.g., Simulink Test, scripted test benches).
  • Documentation supporting certification pathways.
