Description of Work The Dental Hygienist position is located at Eastern Correctional Institution in Hookerton, which houses approximately 477. Reporting to the Dentist. Position is responsible for performing the following duties under the general supervision of a licensed dentist. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $61,177 - $91,767 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Examining teeth of patients and makes referrals to dentist. Applies topical fluorides and performing dental prophylaxis in the prevention of dental diseases. Records findings and maintains records on dental status and services rendered to patients. Instructs patients on the proper care of teeth. Recommends measures for the prevention of dental diseases. Assists the dentist in planning and carrying out dental health programs. Management Preference(KSA): Demonstrated Knowledge in the application of the techniques and practices of dental hygiene.
