Position Title: Process Quality Technician IV Job Summary: The Process Quality Technician IV plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and process effectiveness within the manufacturing environment. This position supports production by managing non-conforming material, leading quality audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making. This role combines advanced metrology, laboratory testing, and process quality expertise with strong cross-functional collaboration to enhance production performance and ensure compliance with quality standards such as AS9100. Primary Responsibilities: Facilitate movement of materials into and out of the Met Lab Manage disposition of non-conforming material, including repair, inspection, and release to production Lead internal quality audits for existing and new production processes Conduct root cause analysis on non-conforming products and implement corrective actions Recommend and lead process improvement initiatives based on data and quality findings Monitor daily production activity and engage with technicians to improve process health and quality outcomes Document and standardize process improvements to ensure consistency and compliance Prepare samples and perform metrology and laboratory testing (mechanical, dimensional, magnetic) Operate specialized equipment (e.g., hardness, tensile, resistivity testing, CMM as needed) Collect, record, and analyze test data for product evaluation Prepare customer-required dimensional reports in compliance with AS9100 or similar standards Support product development efforts related to measurement methods and dimensional requirements Participate in site-wide improvement initiatives and special projects Additional Requirements: High School diploma required Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality, manufacturing, or laboratory environments Experience with metrology and laboratory equipment (CMM preferred) Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex and unique production issues Ability to lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions Ability to perform complex technical assignments with minimal supervision Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and supporting environmental initiatives Anticipates customer needs and drives proactive quality improvements Demonstrates ownership of process quality and production outcomes Builds strong relationships between Quality and Production teams Carpenter Technology Company offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, 401k with company contributions as well as many other options to employees.
