Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to complete scheduled pickups, deliveries, airport tendering, and recoveries.

  • Document and obtain shipment damage reports when required and escalate issues promptly.
  • Stay in constant communication with Dispatch regarding status, delays, and route updates.
  • Follow World Courier and client health and safety protocols (including any COVID-19 requirements).
  • Travel to any assigned sites as required, including overnight stays if needed.
  • Work overtime when routes/distances exceed a typical 8-hour day.
  • Frequently lift/lower/slide packages typically 25-70 lbs.
  • Skills and Experience required
  • Current valid CDL Class A or B (must be maintained).
  • Valid DOT medical card/health card (must be maintained).
  • Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and ability to obey all highway traffic regulations.
  • Proven reliability in time-sensitive delivery operations and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Comfortable with physical requirements, including repeated lifting up to 70 lbs and securing loads.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with Dispatch and client site personnel.
  • Detail-oriented with disciplined documentation habits (logs, manifests, inspections, incident reporting).
  • Flexibility to adjust start/finish times daily and work overtime as business needs require.
  • Required (Driving Record):
  • No more than 3 moving violations and/or accidents in the past 3 years.
  • No more than 2 moving violations and/or accidents in the past 12 months.
  • No "major convictions" within the last 5 years, including:
  • Driving while intoxicated or "under the influence" (DWI/DUI)
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Careless or reckless driving violations
  • Homicide or assault through the use of a motor vehicle
  • Attempting to elude a police officer
  • Suspended or revoked license, or 3 or more license suspensions in the past (per policy)

We're hiring a CDL Driver (Class A or B) to safely and efficiently complete time-critical local pickups and deliveries between client sites, World Courier facilities, and area airports. This role is essential to protecting shipment integrity (including cold chain ) and delivering an outstanding client experience through accuracy, communication, and on-time performance. Location: Indianapolis, IN Schedule: 9:30am - 6:00pm (flexibility required) , Monday - Friday, with overtime as needed Compensation: Competitive salary and $2,500 sign-on bonus
