About the role
You will serve as a SENIOR SUPERVISORY ENGINEER (BRANCH MANAGER) in the PROGRAM OFFICE of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 through GS-15. This position has a control point at the GS-14, Step 10 level. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license/registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12-14) or pay band (ND-03) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing expert engineering advice to successfully accomplish and manage engineering projects and provide staff supervision of various engineering matters concerned with expeditionary engineering projects/programs, Research Development Testing & Evaluation (RDT&E) and Test & Evaluation (T&E) projects; 2) Evaluating and advising on the development and implementation of Joint and DoD engineering programs having significant impact on future equipment and doctrine; 3) Modifying standard practices, applying innovative and inventive skills, and adapting equipment or techniques to solve a variety of engineering, design, construction, maintenance, installation, and/or system operation problems; 4) Supporting an engineering management program by demonstrating knowledge and experience in DoD planning, programming, budgeting, execution, and financial processes; and 5) Contracting principles and quality assurance principles as they relate to assigned specialty area projects and services.
