Brief Overview of type of faculty position we are seeking: The Biology Department of the School of Sciences and Health Professions at Simmons University is seeking applicants for adjunct instructor positions in the Biology Department to teach BIOL 231 Labs and/or BIOL232 Labs in person, to begin September 2, 2026 and end December 19, 2026. Course Description BIOL 231L - Anatomy and Physiology I Labs - Presents an integrated approach to the fundamental facts and concepts of human anatomy and physiology. Examines the constituents of the human body through investigation of tissue types and histology, with further emphasis on skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems, and endocrine control. Laboratory includes histology, gross anatomy, dissection, and physiological experiments. BIOL 232L - Anatomy and Physiology II Labs - Introduces structural relationships and functional integration of major systems of the human body, with emphasis on cardiovascular, lymphatic, immunological, respiratory, digestive, metabolism, renal, reproductive, and homeostatic systems. Laboratory includes histology, gross anatomy, dissection, and physiological experiments. Responsibilities : The adjunct instructor will be responsible for lecturing and leading in person lab work. Both day and evening labs available. BIOL 231L-02 W 11:00AM - 1:50PM BIOL 231L-03 Th 2:00PM - 4:50PM BIOL 232L-05 Th 11:00AM - 1:50PM Labs start September 2, 2026 and end December 19, 2026 with lab grades due immediately following. Requirements : Master's or Ph.D. degree, experience teaching Biology courses. Compensation : $3,806 per section In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws effective October 29, 2025, Simmons University is committed to pay equity, transparency and clear communication throughout the hiring process. This is a non-benefits eligible position. Compensation for adjunct faculty is established at a set rate per course and does not vary based on experience, education, or other factors.
