About the role

As a Construction Electrician Instructor (Electrical Trades Instructor), you will provide classroom and hands-on lab instruction in core electrical concepts and construction trade practices. You will teach students across topics including: Basic electricity Electrical wiring methods Electric services Conduit installation methods Motor principles Electrical controls Life safety systems Construction safety practices This role combines technical expertise, mentorship, and hands-on instruction to prepare students for successful careers in the electrical and construction trades industry. Schedule: Monday-Thursday: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Teach electrical trades classes on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Create a welcoming and engaging learning environment for students
  • Deliver hands-on instruction in classroom and lab settings
  • Assist with curriculum development and course material preparation
  • Maintain classroom tools, lab equipment, and instructional materials
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
  • Submit evaluations, reports, and required documentation on time
  • Support student retention and academic success initiatives
  • Participate in instructor training, faculty meetings, and professional development
  • Assist with equipment and supply inventory management
  • Communicate student attendance concerns and performance issues to leadership
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements

  • Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational, technical, or construction-related training preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the electrical or construction trades field
  • Experience as a Construction Electrician, Commercial Electrician, Industrial Electrician, or Electrical Technician preferred
  • Previous vocational training or teaching experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and construction safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven educational environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
  • CampusNexus experience is a plus
  • to support occasional evening, weekend, or travel requirements
  • Certifications & Licenses
  • OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification within 6 months of hire
  • CPR Certification current or obtained within 3 months of hire
  • NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Certifi
