Who You Will Work With: The People & Culture (P&C) Intern will play a supporting role in delivering a positive employee and intern experience at Interac, with a balanced focus on HR administration and Campus recruitment operations. Reporting to the Leader, Workforce Operations , the P&C Intern can expect to provide day ‑ to ‑ day HR supp o rt ( ie . New hire onboarding , responding to the HR mailbox , etc.) and help lead Campus program ming . This role provides a well ‑ rounded opportunity to build foundational knowledge of HR and recruitment operations .
Responsibilities
- Assisting with general P&C programs and initiatives, including the organization and execution on in-person and virtual employee & intern events, employee onboarding and the Interac intern program
- Supporting the execution of Interac's campus program including campus recruitment and delivering quality programming for interns - you will be instrumental to the creating events and ensuring they align with Interac values
- Utilize Workday (Interac's HR information system) to complete administrative tasks
- Assist with data audits and clean ‑ up activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and system integrity
- Support system hygiene efforts such as reviewing outdated records, validating job and position data, and identifying discrepancies
- Responding to employee inquiries, monitoring shared inbox according to preset service level agreements
- Completing background check verifications as part of the talent acquisition process
- Researching, analyzing, and maintaining information systems in support P&C - supporting HR administration by entering all employee information in applicable systems accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment in communications and documentation
- What You Bring:
- You are studying Human Resources, Business, Administration , or psychology
- Solid verbal, written and analytical communication skills. You are able to articulate and organize your thoughts succinctly
- Proven time management and organization skills. You are able to prioritize and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines
- You have proven experience being trusted to handle sensitive tasks and conversations with confidentiality and discretion
- Understanding that success is in the details - You notice things that others don't . Your critical thinking skills, attention to detail and ability to problem solve help to inform your decision making
- Ability to be flexible especially in re-setting the priorities
- Understand diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Relationship-building and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop trust and confidence, work effectively and collaborative with individuals across multiple functions and levels
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, Power BI, MS Teams) with preference for working knowledge of Excel
- Although not required , you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
- A self-starter mindset with a drive for continuous learning and desire to understand what motivates people and how to engage diverse individuals
- Knowledge in Workday or a similar HRIS, an asset
- You consider yourself technologically savvy and can easily learn to navigate new technology , systems and processes
