About the role

The Electrical Manager is responsible for leading the overall management of the electrical trades for a project, in both an estimating and preconstruction capacity. This role is responsible for understanding the deliverables, developing a work plan, and identifying resources required , while coordinating with the Lead Estimating Manager / Preconstruction Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least five (5) years' experience in estimating for commercial construction
  • Experience leading the bidding and budgeting process for the electrical trades for a project
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction management, including safety, quality, constructability and sustainability standards
  • Leadership level communication and organization skills
  • TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:
  • Leads budget / bid / GMP assembly for the trade specialization
  • Prepares detailed estimates at all phases of design ; p roficient in d ivision 16
  • Manages and coordinates division 16 with all other d ivisions
  • Leads constructability reviews for the electrical trades
  • Leads the development of specific systems analyses and creation of Value Engineering and Alternates lists / logs
  • Researches and compiles historical data for use in future estimate and bid preparation
  • Participates in design progress / project meetings and client presentations
  • Owns responsibility for overall trade partner / supplier coverage and effective communication and management ; i dentifies and aligns the most qualified trade partners for the market sector and scope
  • Counsels, educates and coaches staff to help them develop necessary job skills
  • Builds relationships with trade partners / suppliers, clients and design teams
