About the role
Our USGO North Crawford - Laurel Area team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Sugar Grove, OH to operate and maintain our compressor station engines and auxiliary equipment, pipelines, and associated facilities. We are seeking an experienced Compressor Station Operator who is proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating natural gas equipment and facilities. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses excellent problem solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate compressor engines, auxiliary equipment, pipelines, and associated facilities in assigned are
- Analyze and determine if engines and equipment are operating properly
- Perform routine maintenance activities to include lubricating, maintaining proper oil and water levels, checking temperatures for overheating, adjusting equipment, taking critical readings, and maintaining logbook of readings and pressures
- Relay readings and pressure information to Gas Control
- Maintain constant alertness for equipment failures and pressure changes
- Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in the CMMS (SAP)
- Utilize Microsoft Office suite software for email, communication, and data entry
- Maintain a clean engine room, wipe up all spills, mop floors, etc
- Perform or assist in pipeline operations and maintenance duties to include patrolling for leaks, clearing right-of-way, and repairing leaks

- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of mechanical maintenance experience
- Relevant industrial experience
- One to two years of technical training or experience in the operation of natural gas pipeline systems
- Knowledge and experience in the use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Industrial experience in a plant environments
- A bility to use a Windows computer and associated programs such as Microsoft Office
- This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcohol testing
- Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes
- Work a 12-hour, all nights, 2/2/3 rotating shift schedule
- Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
- Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditions
- Driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position. Following a conditional offer of employment, the Company will check the motor vehicle records of any job applicant when driving is an essential job function.
