About the role

Imagine Pediatrics is a tech enabled, pediatrician led medical group reimagining care for children with special health care needs. We deliver 24/7 virtual first and in home medical, behavioral, and social care, working alongside families, providers, and health plans to break down barriers to quality care. We do not replace existing care teams; we enhance them, providing an extra layer of support with compassion, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to children with medical complexity. The primary location for this role is remote , and the expected schedule is shift work (Mon-Fri 8:30am - 05:00pm and 10:30 - 7:00pm central). Missouri or Illinois licensed independent.

Responsibilities

  • As part of Imagine's integrated model of care, you will work alongside pediatricians, nurses, care coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to assess, treat, and support pediatric patients experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic intervention to children with severe mental illness and mood disorders including but not limited to major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, homicidal ideation, suicidal ideation, and trauma.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments in order to diagnose and form treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide evidence based episodic therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents managing mood disorders and severe persistent mental illness.
  • Deliver care using evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.
  • Monitor progress of therapy utilizing patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) including the PHQ9 and GAD7.
  • Conduct crisis assessment utilizing validated screening tools such as the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale and appropriately safety plan.
  • Support post-acute transitions (i.e. recent hospital discharge) by providing follow-up care to ensure stabilization.
  • Document visits with critical detail in our electronic medical record to ensure continuity of care.
  • Meet regularly with behavioral health manager to discuss caseload progression, application of brief intervention model, discharge planning, and to assign new patients.
  • Work collaboratively with crisis team members on care coordination for various cases

  • First and foremost , you're passionate and committed to reimagining pediatric health care and creating a world where every child with special health care needs gets the care and support they deserve. You will need:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or
  • related area
  • Must be licensed to independently practice in Missouri or Illinois (LCSW strongly preferred); openness to cross-state licensure .
  • 1-2 years' experience post independent licensure in a behavioral health setting.
  • 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, and their caregivers inclusive of external systems involved in a minor's care.
  • Certification/Training in evidence-based modalities including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.
  • Experience working with high-risk behavioral health populations including but not limited to suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, severe persistent mental illness (SPMI), children in the foster care system.
  • Strong preference and comfortability conducting triage assessments and crisis interventions.
  • Diligent regarding documentation standards and accustomed to using electronic medical records.
  • Experience working with a diverse population or demographics.
