Classification Temporary Minimum Pay $13.50 Compensation will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Camp Assistant will support the Chef Instructor in culinary-based lessons to kids ages 8-16. Other duties include ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the room and equipment. Hours are Mon - Thursday, 8am - 5pm. No evenings, no weekends. Requires passing a background check. The Camp Assistant supports the Chef Instructor during hands-on, culinary-based lessons for campers ages 8-16. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation of the classroom and equipment. DATES & HOURS Thursday, June 4 - Training Day Monday, June 8 - First day of camps - Camps run Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. - Additional workshops and special camps may run until 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30 - Last day of camps DESCRIPTION OF WORK Camp Assistants are responsible for guiding a small group of approximately four campers. While the Camp Instructor leads the overall lesson, Assistants ensure their group is: - Working safely - Following sanitation practices - Taking turns appropriately - Receiving help with basic tasks as needed LOCATION All camps take place at the Institute for the Culinary Arts on MCC's Fort Omaha Campus, near 32nd Street and Sorensen Parkway. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Employment is contingent upon passing a background check.
