Professional Surveyor

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Surveyor (PS)
• Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or another approved degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Relevant field experience with a strong foundation in boundary, topographic, and construction surveying.
• Proficiency in:
• GPS survey methods and data processing
• Survey equipment (total stations, GPS receivers, levels)
• CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
• Working knowledge of:
• Coordinate geometry
• Survey measurement adjustment software
• Indiana land surveying laws, regulations, and professional standards
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office , including Excel and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in developed and undeveloped areas under varying weather conditions, with physical requirements including walking, staking, and lifting up to 50-75 pounds.

Lochmueller Group is seeking a Licensed Professional Surveyor (PS) to lead and support survey operations on small to mid-sized projects of limited to moderate complexity throughout the state of Indiana. This role combines technical expertise, client interaction, and mentorship, with opportunities to contribute to both field and office-based survey activities. The ideal candidate is a collaborative professional who applies sound judgment, adheres to state regulations, and consistently delivers high-quality surveying services. We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Our Roadway/Highway Design team is involved in a wide variety of street, roadway, highway and multi-modal transportation design projects for local public agencies and state DOT's.
