Job Description Position Summary: Receives prescription orders from students, clinicians and technicians. Assesses accuracy and issues with orders such as: signatures, dates, case number, quantities, directions, address, weights or other deficiencies. This work unit exists to provide administration and direction of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and provide a support facility for service to the general public and referring veterinarians. Essential Job Duties: Process prescription refill requests and verify prescription information Prepare inpatient and outpatient prescriptions for dispensation to be checked by the pharmacist. Provide customer service to clients picking up prescriptions. Maintain compliance with state pharmacy regulations and hospital safety standards Provide customer service to clients on the telephone Collaborate with veterinarians, pharmacists, students and hospital staff Conditions of Employment: Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Essential Services Designation: Required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety and welfare.
