Responsibility: Works under general supervision. The majority of the work is performed independently where the incumbent makes decisions based on personal knowledge. Physical Demands: The work involves prolonged standing, bending, stooping, physical exertion, kneeling and other uncomfortable and tiring positions. Frequently is required to work on parts of equipment that are located in hard-to-reach places. Regularly lifts, moves, and carries light to heavy weight objects. Handles a variety of tools, materials and equipment. Climbs ladders and may perform work from scaffolds or high places. Work involves frequent lifting or moving of objects weighing up to 30 lbs., constant standing and walking; and occasional lifting of over 50 lbs. Work Environment: Work is performed both indoors and outside. Exposed to sawdust, splinters, grease, oil, lubricants, metal shavings, and flying chips. The worker is subject to cuts from hand or power tools. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions. Must wear protective gear. Employee may be required to travel (TAD) - temporary assigned duty overnight
