Coder Hospital-2 Job Description Coders - Hospital are responsible for technical coding includes the assignment of ICD-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes, modifiers, selection of MD Diagnosis Related Groupings (MS-DRG), Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC), and coding for severity of illness. Interacts with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, provider offices, and outside organizations.
