Responsibilities
- The duties and responsibilities of the position will include:
- Provision of clinical services to BMT and cellular therapy patients and donors in the outpatients (and inpatient) setting.
- Conduct regular clinics for pre and post-translant and cellular therapy patients in the Kinghorn Cancer Centre.
- Involvement in the clinical trials unit - recruit, consent and follow up patients in BMT and cellular therapy clinical trials.
- Assist in maintenance of quality accreditation for JACIE-FACT, CIBMTR and EBMT through data capture, audits, and participation in regular BMT quality meetings.
- Assume a leadership role, specifically in terms of leading and mentoring junior staff and advanced trainees, and participating in hospital-wide teaching and education.
- Involvement in clinical/laboratory research projects for presentation at local or international meetings.
- Assistance with ward or registrar cover during periods of leave.
- Travel alongside a haematology consultant to attend a rural/regional clinic once every 2-3 months.
- No regular afterhours/overtime haematology roster commitments (although opportunities available on request).
