Field Service Engineer (Marine)

About the role

Job Description On field work function - To perform assigned field work on board ships, offshore platform, or onshore site as arranged by service planner or service operation team leader. - Liaise to ops team leader or technical engineer whichever is applicable for field support needs to satisfactorily complete job assignment. - Liaise with local marine technical support engineer on engineering matters with respect to technical details, specifications, and other information. - Generate service report via MAM or other reporting platform then discuss to customer the work performed and recommended follow up actions, either corrective or preventive in nature. - During customer discussions, reinforce the importance on timely execution of preventive maintenance schedule to avoid unscheduled breakdown resulting to expensive repair works. - Liaise all recommended follow up actions to direct report superior, technical engineer, or aftermarket/equipment sales team for team alignment. - For inspection job, provide timely and accurate feedback on site & equipment conditions through detailed & written inspection reports that would help in generating service recommendation for corrective and preventive actions. - Ensure to comply all necessary marine certificate requirements to work on board ships or offshore platforms. - Commit to 24/7 service requirement of the Marine sector. - In event there is no marine site jobs, incumbent will need to support industrial team on site work at operations team lead discretion. - Any industrial customer field work that maybe assign by direct reporting. Office base function in the absence of field work assignment - Support internal sales on RFQ matters / Sourcing of correct part numbers. - Liaise directly with customer for jobs planned weeks/months in advance to ensure alignment in terms of scope of work, tools and parts to be brought into worksite, transportation, and timing/schedule. - For marine service jobs to be performed by other CC: a. Liaise with colleagues in other CC and with customer contacts to coordinate service activities and work schedule. b. For jobs in port yard, liaise with yard contacts and other relevant parties for yard entry requirements and formalities. Other functions and responsibilities: - To attend various service certification training as organized by Service Academy or CTS Division to continuously develop and/or acquire product and technical competencies on various Atlas Copco equipment. - Continuous knowledge development through virtual and face-to-face training arranged locally or abroad. - Adhere to all legal requirements, customer and Atlas Copco safety rules and regulations to ensure own health and safety and that of other personnel, equipment, and property. - Observe proper housekeeping during and after work execution. - Maintain company's professional image at all-time, including dress code, conduct, vehicle/tools/PPE maintenance, etc. - Undertake ad-hoc projects and assignments given by direct report superior. Experience Requirements At least 3 years of hands-on working experience in the Marine environment, preferable with good knowledge in air compressor / gas generation fundamentals / principles and its related systems' repair and troubleshooting. Knowledge Computer literate. Good command of English is essential. Able to write technical report relating to work activities and technical investigation. Well versed in Electrical / Instrumentation / PLC / Mechanical system working principles. Educational Requirements Diploma in Marine Engineering or equivalent Personality Requirements Customer oriented and team player. Able to work independently in challenging and demanding environments. Good logic & analytical skill Self-Starter and Proactive with good interpersonal skills Willing to travel Familiar with how things work in the marine industry (Procedures, certificates, formalities etc.) Able to multi-task with positive attitude Willing to work irregular hours Willingness and ability to mobilize onboard or overseas on a short notice Others Possess Class 3 driving license
