About the role

CompScience is expanding our presence into captives and the broker channel - and we need someone who can open doors. You'll work alongside our Director of Business Development to build relationships with captive managers, brokers, and enterprise customers with a focus on sales for our Active Risk Management (ARM) Platform This is a quota-carrying, hybrid hunter/relationship role: part networking, part presenting, part closing. You'll need to be as comfortable demoing AI-powered software as you are talking loss runs. Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with captive managers and brokers
  • Identify and qualify opportunities within captive and broker accounts
  • Lead sales presentations and product demos to risk management and safety audiences
  • Own strategic account planning and pipeline development
  • Travel to conferences, broker offices, and client sites (~15% travel)
  • Coordinate with internal teams on pilot deployments and customer onboarding
  • Build a repeatable playbook for the captive/broker market segment

Requirements

  • 7+ years in insurance, risk management, or related field (broker, carrier, captive manager)
  • Demonstrated sales or business development experience - not just account management
  • Existing relationships with captive managers or major brokers
  • Strong understanding of workers' comp, captives, and self-insured structures
  • Comfortable presenting to senior audiences and building executive relationships
  • Willingness to travel and work a startup pace
  • Experience selling safety or risk technology solutions
  • Early adopter mindset - excited by new technology and comfortable with ambiguity
