Are you curious about being part of our growth story while evolving your skills in a culture that will welcome your unique contributions? If so, let's start the conversation. Iron Mountain is seeking an operationally-driven Grid Interconnection & Power Delivery Lead to join our Global Data Centers team. In this role, your primary mandate is flawless operational execution. You will own the end-to-end grid connection process for our active projects-from initial capacity requests through to final energization. You will act as the central operational node, providing cross-functional leadership across business, engineering, and sustainability teams, while heavily coordinating with third-party utilities and contractors to ensure reliable, on-time power delivery for our existing commitments. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Flawless End-to-End Execution: Own and manage the entire operational lifecycle of grid access contracts (ESA) and connection agreements. You are responsible for ensuring that the standard grid connection process is executed perfectly and that we receive power exactly when expected. Cross-Functional & 3rd Party Leadership: Act as the primary driver for active projects, aggressively coordinating 3rd parties (DSOs, TSOs, external vendors) and internal teams to ensure all dependencies, handoffs, and operational milestones are met without delay. Risk & Timeline Alignment: Actively monitor utility requirements against reality. You will track critical thresholds (such as underutilization clauses or customer ramp-up timelines) to ensure our capacity commitments align with actual customer deployment, mitigating commercial risk. Operational Problem Solving: While the focus is on standard execution, you will still need to navigate complex technical realities (e.g., managing non-redundant power line setups) and ensure local infrastructure approvals (switchyards, substations) stay completely on track. Process Optimization: Continuously document, track, and improve the operational handoffs between the energy, engineering, and sales teams to create a highly repeatable, reliable power delivery machine. What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications) Operational Rigor & Execution Focus: You are meticulous, highly organized, and thrive on driving complex, multi-stakeholder processes to completion. You do not drop the ball, and you know how to hold cross-functional teams accountable to strict timelines. Industry Expertise: Demonstrable experience in energy procurement, utility relations, or infrastructure project management for energy-intensive consumers, such as data centers. Technical Depth: Strong working knowledge of utility interconnection processes, electrical infrastructure, and standard grid access contracts. Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage daily/weekly operational engagements with utilities and effectively communicate project statuses and technical concepts to non-technical executive stakeholders. Education: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, project management, environmental, or an energy-related discipline. Pan-European Presence: Willingness and ability to travel as needed to active project sites and utility offices across Europe to ensure critical infrastructure milestones are met and local relationships are maintained. What We Offer (Benefits) Competitive compensation and benefits aligned with the experience. Flexible work options to support work-life balance. Comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement plans. Opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth. Category: Real Estate & Facilities
