The Care/Support Worker will assist individuals with personal care, daily living activities, emotional support, and community engagement while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care & Support
- Assist service users with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting while always maintaining dignity and respect.
- Support individuals with mobility and daily living activities according to their care plans.
- Administer oral and topical medication in line with company policies and procedures.
- Household & Daily Living Support
- Assist with household duties including grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements and at appropriate times.
- Ensure service users live in a clean, comfortable, and safe environment.
- Emotional & Mental Wellbeing
- Provide emotional support and companionship to service users.
- Promote positive mental health and wellbeing through encouragement, active listening, and person-centred support.
- Organise and support suitable recreational and social activities that enhance quality of life and independence.
- Professional Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, social workers, families, and other agencies to provide effective care and support.
- Make appropriate recommendations to family members and healthcare personnel regarding care plans and service user wellbeing.
- Accompany service users to appointments, outings, and community activities where required.
- Record Keeping & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, care records, incident reports, and daily logs using IT systems.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and company policies at all times.
- Attend mandatory training sessions, supervisions, and team meetings as required.

- Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a care, support, domiciliary, or healthcare setting is desirable.
- Basic understanding of person-centred care principles.
- Ability to administer medication or willingness to undertake training.
- Skills & Knowledge
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
