About the role
As an Intervention Specialist, you'll play a vital role in delivering person-centred, recovery-focused interventions within our supported accommodation service. Responsibilities
- As an Intervention Specialist, you will:
- Build supportive, professional relationships with residents based on trust, respect and accountability.
- Complete comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, support needs, risks and recovery goals.
- Develop, implement and regularly review personalised recovery and support plans.
- Manage a caseload of residents, providing tailored interventions that promote independence and long-term recovery.
- Deliver crisis intervention and use de-escalation techniques to respond appropriately during periods of emotional or behavioural distress.
- Support residents with relapse prevention planning and early intervention strategies.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups, life skills workshops and educational sessions.
- Support residents to develop practical independent living skills, including budgeting, communication, healthy relationships and employment readiness.
- Connect residents with community services including healthcare, mental health services, education, employment support, benefits advice and other local resources.
- Work collaboratively with treatment providers, probation services, social care professionals, family members (where appropriate) and other partner agencies.
- Monitor resident wellbeing through regular welfare checks and promote compliance with house expectations and recovery plans.
- Support conflict resolution and contribute to a positive, inclusive and recovery-focused community environment.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records using electronic case management systems.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, training and continuous professional development.
- Work in accordance with safeguarding procedures, organisational policies and all relevant legislation.
- About You:
- We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people to make positive changes and who can build effective relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Essential:
- Experience supporting people with complex needs, including substance use, homelessness, mental health or related services.
- Experience managing a caseload and delivering person-centred support.
- Experience completing assessments, support planning and risk management.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
- Knowledge of housing, welfare benefits or community support services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience maintaining accurate and confidential records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Location: Redbank Recovery, 182 Rochdale Road, Collyhurst, Manchester Working Hours: 37 hours per week, worked on a rota basis. Monday to Friday shifts are split between early shifts (8:00am-4:00pm) and late shifts (12:00pm-8:00pm), with approximately one late shift every four weeks. The role also includes approximately one weekend in every four, with weekend hours of 9:00am-5:00pm, to meet the needs of the service. Contract Type: Permanent / 37 Hours Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240.00 Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role.
