Electrical Engineer (Data Centre)

Responsibilities

• Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Manage electrical system upgrades, replacement / installation projects, and lifecycle planning.
• Lead and support electrical systems' upgrades and retrofits, ensuring minimal disruption to live data center operations.
• Evaluate system performance using KPIs such as:
• Power Usage Effectiveness
• System Efficiency
• Conduct energy optimization studies and recommend improvements (e.g., airflow management, containment strategies, setpoint optimization).
• Support capacity planning and future expansion work based on IT load growth.
• Review electrical engineering drawings, method statements, and ensure compliance with design intent and operational requirements.
• Work closely with operations teams to implement EOPs/MOPs for electrical system interventions.
• Participate in risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and incident investigations related to electrical systems.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant standards and regulatory requirements in Singapore.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Additional certifications relevant to the industry is an added advantage
• At least 2 years' experience maintaining electrical, mechanical, fire protection system in a data centre environment with concurrently maintainable electrical infrastructure
• Experience and knowledge of MEP equipment such as UPS, generators, synchronizing controls, etc.
• Strong technical expertise in thermal management, cooling load calculations, and energy efficiency improvements, supporting design and upgrading of cooling systems in data centre environments.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Computer skills e.g. Microsoft office, google emails, docs etc.
