Reporting to the Supervisor, End User Computing, the Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of site support services, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for computer hardware, software, and associated peripherals in a mining and industrial environment. Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Information Technology within a corporate or industrial technology environment, preferably supporting remote or site-based operations
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite®
- Demonstrated ability to support, troubleshoot, and repair desktop and laptop hardware, including peripheral replacement, system upgrades, and maintenance of legacy systems commonly found in industrial environments
- Extensive experience using incident management and ticketing systems to track, prioritize, and resolve technical issues such as Service Now
- Solid understanding of computer hardware technologies, remote diagnostic and support tools, client/server networking, and mobile/smartphone platforms
- Experience supporting internet and intranet services, including email systems, web-based applications, and modern web browsers
- Familiarity with remote support tools such as Goverlan or equivalent remote administration software
- Ability to work in a mining or heavy industrial environment, including adherence to strict health, safety, and site access requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent, with the ability to travel between site locations as required
