ChampionX has an immediate need for an Assistant Plant Operator in our Chemical Technologies group located in Odessa, TX . Responsibilities

  • Complete work functions within production operations on a daily basis
  • Responsible for quality blending of finished products and the bulk, drum, and packaging of products
  • Perform general forklift duties as required
  • Operate mechanical and electrical equipment including pumps, mixing equipment, and automation control systems used in blending and packaging operations
  • Complete and comply with all safety initiatives and certification requirements, including near-miss and incident reporting
  • Accountable for data entry of production tickets, goods receipts, and shipping documentation
  • Conduct daily inspections of work areas and complete monthly reporting requirements
  • Maintain daily housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and organized work environment at all times
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory processes
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable ISO requirements

  • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator
  • Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and perform squatting and bending activities (Agility Tests 1, 2a & 2b)
  • Immigration sponsorship is not offered for this role
  • Team player with the ability to perform physical work in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate core business programs
  • Two-year Process Technology degree preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an operator in a batch or specialty chemical manufacturing plant
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant manufacturing or production experience
  • Forklift operation certification preferred
  • 24-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders regularly
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive physical activities
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator
