Lead Social Worker

About the role

We are seeking an experienced social work leader to oversee casework, counselling, groupwork, and community work, while driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Casework & Counselling
• Implement tools and templates to guide case assessment
• Monitor team compliance with professional processes
• Represent the Centre in advocacy efforts for vulnerable families
• Establish platforms for knowledge dissemination of best practices
• Groupwork & Community Work
• Steer strategic initiatives for alignment with cluster strategies
• Supervisory Duties
• Guide supervisors in supporting their supervisees' self-assessment
• Assess staff capabilities, identify growth areas, and build training roadmaps
• Leadership Duties
• Participate in sector-level discussions and lead change implementation
• Communicate vision and motivate the team
• Co-construct and implement employee development strategies
• Operational Skills
• Support implementation of operational protocols and policies
• Oversee emergency response and crisis management tools
• Lead changes to support trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive practices
• Other Duties
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Centre

Requirements

• Degree in Social Work, Counselling, or Psychology from an accredited institution
• At least 5-10 years of relevant social work experience
• Strong networking skills with government agencies and community partners
• Knowledge of SASW Code of Ethics and Code of Practice
• Ability to lead and manage a team of social workers
• Willing to conduct home visits when necessary
