Advertised Position Title: Applicant Pool for Adjunct Faculty, Technical Theater Support Job Description: Assists the Technical Director with larger tasks that require more than one person and acts as a backup for the Technical Director during vacation or sick days. Tasks that Need Assistance: Installing/Uninstalling Marely Dance Floor - Running light board, sound board, or live stream equipment for larger productions - Moving heavy equipment i.e. musical instruments. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of current practices in theatrical staging, design, and execution. Knowledge of lighting and sound design. Knowledge of applicable safety regulations. Written/verbal communication, customer service skill, use of power tools i.e. drills/saws. Technical/Professional proficiency in lighting and sound equipment. Capability to make quick decisions under pressure. Ability to manage several projects at once. Essential Functions: Coordinate events and facility use with the Fine and Performing Arts Chair and CFPA Coordinator. Serve as a back-up technical liaison for all groups using the facility. Coordinate scenic and prop build schedules with staff and guest artists. Serve as a back-up head technician for all productions. Design lighting and sound for Owens productions and for outside productions where needed. Monitor use and maintain technical equipment in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, including lighting, sound, rigging, and shop equipment. Supervise, train and monitor students in shop activities, including scenic and prop construction. Supervise, train and monitor student and community members in running shows for Owens productions and outside events. Act as a back-up supervisor for all technical rehearsals.
