Assisting senior level shipwrights with building and maintaining submarine drydocking equipment. Read and interpret blueprints and instructions assigned within the shipwright trade. Assisting senior level shipwrights with fabricating wooden articles and equipment such as shoring, work benches, and plaque boards. Assisting senior level shipwrights in building and positioning cradles, hull blocks, bilge blocks, and other structures used to dry dock vessels. Assists senior level shipwrights with the construction of staging and scaffolding for elevated work such as sandblasting and painting. Build and maintain various submarine drydocking equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, instructions, specifications, and docking worksheets to perform jobs assigned within the shipwright trade. Fabricating wooden articles and equipment such as showing, cribbing, wedges, chart tables, work benches, and plaque boards. Assign work and give guidance to junior level shipwrights based on the experience level of the junior shipwright, ensuring policies and safety guidelines are met. Establishing lines and layouts based on frame numbers for installation of pad eyes and layout of equipment for exterior surfaces. ns.
