Position Summary: Strongpoint is growing fast, and as we scale we're investing in the security, controls, and infrastructure that let us earn and keep our partners' trust. We're looking for an IT Project Manager who can turn that mandate into action - starting with leading our SOC 2 audit readiness from the front. This role is ideal for a high-ownership operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings structure to ambiguity, and can hold technical, compliance, and business stakeholders to a shared plan. Your first priority will be preparing the organization for our SOC 2 audit; from there, you'll own the IT and security project portfolio that supports our platform and affiliate companies. PLEASE NOTE: This role is based out of our downtown Chicago office and follows a hybrid work model, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely part of the week. The IT Project Manager will ideally work in-office 3-4 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead our SOC 2 readiness end to end - coordinate the readiness assessment, map controls to the Trust Services Criteria, and drive the organization to audit-ready
- Own evidence collection and control documentation: access management, change management, incident response, vendor/third-party risk, and related policies and procedures
- Serve as the central point of contact for our external auditors and internal control owners, keeping the audit timeline on track
- Track remediation items to closure, surfacing gaps and risks early rather than at the deadline
- Build and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies in Asana
- Partner with IT, Security, Finance, HR, Operations, and Leadership to move technical and compliance work forward
- Act as a key connector between the Strongpoint platform team and affiliate partners on shared systems and controls
- Create concise updates and materials for senior leadership on audit progress, IT initiatives, and risk
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years of project management experience, spanning IT, security, or compliance initiatives
- Direct exposure to SOC 2, or comparable audit/compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, HITRUST, NIST), and a working understanding of IT controls
- Strong project management and execution skills across multiple technical workstreams
- Ability to translate between technical teams, auditors, and business leaders
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with high discretion around sensitive information
- High level of ownership and follow-through; thrives in ambiguity and brings calm, structure, and momentum
Requirements
- Pay Transparency Statement:
- The anticipated pay range for this position is $90,000-$110,000 annually.
