Be a Data Champion: Help us use data and performance metrics to guide our budget decisions. It's all about making sure our spending leads to the best possible results. Dig Deep: Do some serious financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling. Your work will help us figure out where our money should go to make the biggest impact. Tell the Story: Take raw data and turn it into clear, easy-to-understand stories and visuals. We want to show everyone the impact we're making. Our team The Budget Office plans, coordinates and prepares the annual County budget, financial forecasts and budget projections, ad hoc analyses for County decision-makers, and cost control analyses. Budget staff serve on countywide task forces related to budget, finance and other fiscal matters; identify and resolve financial problems; and partner with County Labor Relations in collective bargaining research, analysis and in preparing labor cost projections. Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills* : A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Economics, or something similar; in lieu of a degree, will we consider equivalent years of related experience Three years experience in budget analysis, financial management, or another analytical role; preferably in a governmental capacity or a large organization A sharp mind for analysis and problem-solving, with an eagle eye for detail Great communication skills - you can explain complex financial stuff clearly to anyone You're a pro with financial software and seriously good with Microsoft Excel Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills* : You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates.
