SUPO, where required) The Mission of the Engineering Lead, Mechanical Engineering As Engineering Lead for Mechanical Engineering, you will be a founding member of the team responsible for bringing ICEYE's next-generation optical satellite platform to life - from early concept design all the way through to in-orbit validation. You will lead and work hands-on alongside a small, high-impact team, driving the mechanical design, structural analysis, and optimization of the satellite platform while overseeing manufacturing, testing, and qualification campaigns. Working directly with component manufacturers and subcontractors, you will ensure that every part meets the precise requirements of a system built to perform in the harsh realities of space - owning the problems that arise along the way and iterating until the mission is complete. Day to day responsibilities: Be a key founding member of the small team responsible for spacecraft systems lifecycle from design up to in-orbit validation. The team will bring the design into full production, commissioning and operations of the imaging instrument, including all phases along the way - testing, qualification, verification and iterating on necessary steps. Be a team and technical leader for design and optimization of the satellite platform and oversee manufacturing, testing and qualification campaign. Due to the nature of the project and size of the founding "tiger team", it's expected to actively participate in the CAD and other engineering activities. Working with manufacturers of the components and subsystems to ensure the right quality, alignment and performance of delivered components and mechanisms.
