Fund Accountant / Controller - 3 month contract

About the role

This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded investment manager on a business-critical project, playing a key role in enhancing fund accounting processes and supporting the move to daily NAV reporting for an established portfolio of credit funds.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of daily NAV production across an existing portfolio of credit funds.
• Prepare, review and validate daily NAV calculations, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Maintain and review fund accounting records, including supporting investment activity, cash movements and portfolio transactions.
• Perform fund reconciliations and investigate NAV breaks, pricing discrepancies and valuation queries.
• Work closely with operations, valuation, legal and investment teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review payment instructions and fund cash activity where required.
• Assist with fund expense analysis, accruals and management fee calculations.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers throughout the project.
• Support process improvements and documentation as the business transitions to a daily NAV operating model.
• Assist with ad hoc finance and fund accounting projects as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fund accounting or fund control within an asset manager, investment manager or fund administrator.
• Essential experience working with credit funds** (Private Credit, Direct Lending or similar strategies).
• Strong understanding of NAV production and fund accounting processes.
• Experience supporting daily or high-frequency NAV calculations is highly advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across finance, operations and investment teams.
