About the role

This position is located at the Middle School/Teen Center, Stuttgart, Germany. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives and bonuses will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: (QUAL 1) Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in child development (including directly related behavioral science), childhood education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled consistent with: For positions in a Middle School/Teen Program - Youth Development, Elementary Education, and/or Secondary Education. OR (QUAL 2) Combination of education and experience as follows: Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in an appropriate CYS field commensurate with the program assigned as indicated above, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described in the fields appropriate to the position. Appropriate experience and course work must be comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above. In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2) candidate must possess: 1. At least twelve (12) months experience working in child and youth programs. 2. At least one year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. 3. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. 4. Experience in planning and conducting training for child and youth staff.5. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess ALL of the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Experience working independently managing a developmentally appropriate program for infants through school aged children. Possess the knowledge and background in implementing child and youth programming principles, practices and techniques. Successfully seen a program through a NAEYC (National Accreditation for the Education of Young Child) and/or COA (Council on Accreditation) Accreditation, from start to finish. Experience implementing the Department of Defense (DoD) certification standards within a child or youth program. Experience working with BGCA (Boys and Girls Club of America) & 4H military partnerships to enhance programming? 2 or more years' of experience/skills developing supports that accommodate children with special needs and children with challenging behaviors. The experience and knowledge listed above MUST be reflected on your resume to be considered a Highly Qualified candidate.
